Silverstein casts glance abroad

Developer Larry Silverstein is looking to extend his grasp. The head of Silverstein Properties has named Marty Burger, a real estate veteran, as his executive vice president, a move that some say reflects his goal to expand beyond New York City. Silverstein told Crain’s that he plans to try his hand at global development, but did not disclose where in particular he’s considering. “There are two ways to deal with difficult times: One way is to hunker down, and the other is to find value and create opportunities and grow the organization by investing in new initiatives,” Silverstein said. “We prefer the second approach.”
