The three-bedroom Beresford apartment where renowned opera singer, arts advocate and “Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” guest host Beverly Sills lived until her death in 2007 has hit the market for $6.995 million, according to the New York Times. The prestigious Emery Roth-designed co-op at 211 Central Park West is in some ways as famous as Sills herself, having housed the likes of Jerry Seinfeld, Diana Ross, Glenn Close, John McEnroe and Rock Hudson. Sills’ former fourth-floor apartment, which is now in the hands of her daughter, Meredith Holden Greenough, has herringbone floors, high ceilings, a fireplace and views of Central Park. Sandra Balan of the Corcoran Group has the listing. [NYT]
