Sheepshead Bay Stop & Shop sells for $28.5M

Connecticut-based real estate firm Feldco Development has sold a Sheepshead Bay building housing a Super Stop & Shop grocery store for $28.5 million, according to records filed by the city today. The buyer was a Florida-based limited liability company called Sands Brooks, which also assumed a $17.24 million mortgage.

The 54,000-square-foot, one-story building sits on an 88,000-square-foot lot with an outdoor parking lot at street level plus parking space on the roof, according to Feldco’s website. Feldco acquired the site in 1991, completed the current structure a year later, and a supermarket has rented the space ever since. The property was renovated in 2004, according to PropertyShark.com, and Stop & Shop took its latest lease in 2005.

Feldco President Barry Feldman did not return calls for comment. Sands Brook could not be reached for comment. Stop & Shop did not immediately return requests for comment. — Adam Fusfeld
