Fire erupts at Midtown apartment building

A fire erupted this afternoon at a 12-unit apartment building at 245 East 55th Street, DNAinfo reported. The fire began on the third floor shortly before 2 p.m. and was reportedly brought under control shortly thereafter. It is unclear whether anybody sustained injuries in the blaze.

The 8,556-square-foot building, between Second and Third avenues, is a rental property, according to Streeteasy.com, and is owned by Aintree Rlty.
