The Nightingale-Bamford school, an elite all-girls preparatory school thought to be an inspiration for the “Gossip Girl” series, has purchased an adjacent building from entities associated with the Hakim brothers for $21.9 million, city records show. Located at 30 East 92nd Street in Carnegie Hill, the five-story, 6,018-square-foot structure includes 1,000 square feet of retail space.

The sellers of the century-old property were listed as Golden Pillow LLC., a subsidiary of Carnegie Hill Properties; Shemiran Co. LLC, a subsidiary of Salon Realty; and KH 753 9th Ave Associates. All three companies are associated with the Hakim brothers, who own large swaths of real estate in New York City. One of the brothers, Kamran Hakim is said to own more than $1 billion worth of real estate — primarily multi-family rentals on the East and West sides — including The Anthem, a 483-unit Rental On East 34th Street.

The deed suggests that the Hakim brothers made the sale in part to recognize the “educational and other contributions to the community the Nightingale-Bamford School has made.”

Nightingale, founded in 1920, counts among its alumni fashion designers Charlotte Ronson and Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss, politican Millicent Fenwick and “Gossip Girl” author Cecily Brooke von Ziegasar; von Ziegasar’s series led to a popular CW television series.

Since 1991, the school has been housed in a seven-story, 108,810-square-foot school building at 20 East 92nd Street. In 2007, the school expanded by making a $7 million deal for a neighboring four-story building, 28 East 92nd Street, despite residents’ objections. And in September of this year, the school was rocked by a scandal, after a married teacher was alleged to have had an affair with a student.
