Gene Kaufman has built himself a mini-empire around West 28th Street. The architect is behind the design of the hotel rising at 125 West 28th Street, directly next to a Kaufman-designed Holiday Inn Garden at 121 West 28th Street and in front of another Kaufman-designed building, New York YIMBY reported.

The hotel property at 125 West 28th is slated to become a Cambria Suites. This will be one of two Manhattan locations — the other will be located at 30 West 46th Street in Times Square. These locations, as well as another one in Westchester, mark Cambria’s first entrance into a major metro market.

As previously reported, Kaufman is also designing two Downtown Brooklyn hotels slated to rise in vacant lots. [NY YIMBY]Zachary Kussin
