Are you a fan of the view from the High Line? Neighborhood preservationists say it’s in danger, thanks to a 120,000-square-foot retail and office property that Romanoff Equities and Property Group Partners are developing at 860 Washington Street, the New York Observer reported. The 10-story project is slated for completion in 2015, as The Real Deal reported, and will have 11,000- to 13,400-square-foot floor plates, plus two retail spaces on the lower levels.

“We’ll get this 175-foot glass wall that will detract from the experience of the High Line,” Andrew Berman, the executive director of the Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation, told the Observer.

Though Romanoff did not respond to the Observer’s request for comment, Daryll Romanoff, principal at Romanoff Equities, has said that the building “blends in perfectly with the High Line and its surroundings.” [NYO]Zachary Kussin
