UES townhouse once listed with Dolly Lenz slashes price

An Upper East Side townhouse that top producer Dolly Lenz pulled off the market more than a year ago is up for sale again — with a $3 million price cut and a pair of new brokers.

The 5,500-square-foot property at 22 East 78th Street has an asking price of $15.8 million; the listing is with Jaar-Mel Sloane of Sloane Square and Lauren Muss of the Corcoran Group, StreetEasy shows.

Lenz put an $18.3 million price tag on the four-bedroom, six-bathroom home in January 2012, when she still worked for Douglas Eilliman; she yanked the listing eight months later, in August of that year, without explanation. Lenz left Elliman in June to start her own firm, as previously reported.

The home is “priced to sell,” according to Sloane, who told The Real Deal that she does not know why Lenz took the home off the market. Muss and Lenz could not immediately be reached for comment.

Financial consultant Robert Tetenbaum and wife Roxana own the townhouse, which city property records show they purchased in July 2005 for $8.1 million. Sloane represented the Tetenbaums when they purchased the property. Robert Tetenbaum co-founded First Manhattan Consulting Group and now serves as the consulting firm’s executive vice president.

The home was built in 1871 by architect Silas Styles and shares the block, between Fifth and Madison avenues, with many other storied townhouses, according to a 2007 story by the New York Times. Features include 22-foot ceilings, a breakfast room, a formal dining room, five fireplaces and a video security and alarm system. The Tetenbaums restored the stoop and lower floor to their original state, the newspaper reported.

Muss is also listing a penthouse at Time Warner Center owned by billionaire socialite Anna Anisimova, as previously reported. The asking price: $50 million.

In the short time on her own, Lenz has racked up several high-profile listings, including Tommy Hilfiger’s $80 million penthouse at The Plaza Hotel.
