Another Shake Shack coming, this one to 600 Third Ave.
Celebrity chef Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group signed a 15-year lease for the tenth outpost in the city of his fast-expanding burger chain, Shake Shack. The latest location is in an office tower in Midtown East.
In October, Shake Shack took over a kiosk inside Grand Central Terminal, as previously reported. Now it will occupy nearly 4,800 square feet across two levels at 600 Third Avenue, a 42-story building owned by L&L Holding Company and Blackrock.
Qdoba Mexican Grill formerly was housed in the space, near 40th Street. Shake Shack is slated to move in by this fall.
In November, Meyer received Community Board 2 approval for a liquor license for a café in the lobby of the new Shakespeare theater in Downtown Brooklyn, as previously reported. [NYP] — Mark Maurer
