Bloomberg’s environmental boss now de Blasio’s

Former Department of Environmental Protection head Emily Lloyd, who ran the department for four years during the Bloomberg administration, is back.

Lloyd, who recently was administrator of Prospect Park and presidnet of the Prospect Park Alliance, is returning to her old role under Mayor Bill de Blasio, the mayor announced Tuesday. In her second go-round at the DEP, Lloyd plans to focus on bolstering the city’s water tunnel infrastructure and expand renewable energy use.

During her Bloomberg years, Lloyd oversaw efforts to improve the city’s third water tunnel, which channels water from the city’s upstate reservoir. She also headed up an effort to revamp DEP’s customer service bureau.
