Construction is expected to start in July on the 94-room boutique Carvi Hotel branded project at Lafayette and Monroe streets. The project’s architects, Greg Comito of Comito Associates, announced that the six-story hotel will feature conference rooms, a café, lounge areas, a rear garden terrace and a business center, according to NJ.com

“The demand for hotel space in the Ironbound is obvious,” Comito said in a statement. “The hotel will be in easy walking distance to renowned restaurants and shops, with perfect access to the airports and Manhattan within what we see as European neighborhood character.” [NJ.com] Christopher Cameron
