Elmhurst Hospital kicked off the opening of the medical facility’s new Women’s Pavilion Friday, a 17,370-square-foot outpatient facility located across the street from the main hospital.
The center spans two stories and holds 18 examination rooms, two reception areas and spaces for childbirth, breastfeeding, nutrition and diabetes education classes, Brownstoner reported. The hospital aims to hold up to 15 percent more patients in the new wing, and will offer services such as walk-in pregnancy testing, prenatal care, HIV counseling and testing, genetic counseling, high-risk pregnancy and postpartum services.
The Women’s Pavilion is located across from 79-01 Broadway, at 79th Street, and opens to patients June 1. [Brownstoner] — Julie Strickland
