In continuing its Hudson Yards fiefdom, Related Companies plans to construct a 300,000-square-foot rental property next to the Abington House.
The 189-unit project at 532 West 30th Street between 10th and 11th avenues would replace the seven-story building already on the site. The 15,447-square-foot, 94-year-old existing structure would have to be razed. The developer paid $9 million for it last year.
Prices at the 312-unit Abington House, which launched leasing last month, ranges from $3,000 per month for a studio to $5,700 for a two-bedroom unit. With its design for the building, Robert A.M. Stern Architects looks to pay homage to the weathered industrial properties that have long populated the area. [NYO] — Mark Maurer
