The $250 million revamp of Brookfield Place, formerly known as World Financial Center, is rendering the space’s dining scene virtually unrecognizable.
The new version removes a number of the site’s stores and restaurants along the corridors and courtyards adjacent to the Winter Garden, and includes two floors of eateries and al fresco dining terraces that face the North Cove yacht marina. Le District, a French-themed marketplace and restaurant will seat 1,000 over a 37,000-square-foot spread, and a venue directly above dubbed Hudson Eats will provide an additional 35,000 square feet of eating space.
Five restaurants will also line Brookfield Place’s Vesey Street boundary to the north.
All in all, the food spots are expected to generate more than $120 million in sales over the first year, Brookfield retail leasing director Ed Hogan told the New York Post.
