A 26-year-old construction worker has been charged in the slaying of Brooklyn landlord Menachem Stark.

The suspect, Kendel Felix, worked for a contractor that handled buildings owned by Stark, who in January was kidnapped from outside his Williamsburg office and later found dead in a Great Neck dumpster. Police said yesterday that a 26-year-old man believed to have driven the van used in the kidnapping had confessed to the crime and named two other suspects.

A source told the New York Daily News that Felix admitted to police that he and his associates suffocated Stark by accident.

Felix “admits they wanted to rob him,” a source told the Daily News. “They weren’t thinking about killing him.”
