Steepest, cheapest listings to hit Manhattan this week

Anne Young of Brown Harris Stevens had the priciest single-family residential listing to hit the Manhattan market this week with a $30 million penthouse at 1136 Fifth Avenue in Carnegie Hill. Perhaps best known as the fictional home of “Gossip Girl” protagonist Blair Waldorf, the four-bedroom unit boasts a wraparound terrace, gym and media room. Warner Music Group CEO Stephen Cooper owns the pad.

Second priciest this week is a $25 million townhouse at 120 East 78th Street on the Upper East Side. The eight-story, eight-bedroom home boasts floor-to-ceiling double-hung windows, roughly 11,000 square feet of interior space and multiple outdoor spaces, including a private garden, terraces and roof deck. Each of the eight bedrooms holds a private bath and a fireplace, while the chef’s kitchen is outfitted with customized cabinetry. Third on the expensive end this week is a $23.9 million townhouse at 21 West 10th Street in Greenwich Village. Originally built in 1833 on farmland owned by John Jacob Astor, the mansion is 9,360 square feet in size and boasts Juliette balconies overlooking the front garden. Roger Erickson of Sotheby’s International Realty has the listing for the nine-bedroom home.

The cheapest listing of the week is a $170,000 one-bedroom restricted sale co-op at 834 Riverside Drive in Washington Heights. The prewar unit in an elevator building features high ceilings, a windowed kitchen and bathroom and hardwood floors throughout, and can be renovated. Steven Baquerizo of City Living has the listing.

Second cheapest this week is a $185,000 two-bedroom restricted-sale co-op, also at 834 Riverside Drive in Washington Heights. The home is up for renovations and, like its less expensive counterpart, holds high ceilings, a windowed kitchen and hardwood floors. Steven Baquerizo has this listing as well.

Also on the market for $185,000 one-bedroom co-op at 1901 Madison Avenue in Central Harlem. The home boasts a new bathroom, walk-in kitchen with brand new appliances and park views. EAR NYC’s Peter Lopez has the listing.
