Singer Vanessa Carlton wants $18,000 to rent her loft

Two-bedroom in Soho comes with keyed elevator access and vintage furniture

Singer and composer Vanessa Carlton, best known for her hit “A Thousand Miles,” is putting her Soho pad up for rent for the hefty price of $17,950 a month.

The singer bought the two-bedroom apartment at 182 Lafayette Street in 2004 for $1.83 million. The apartment is for rent with Lisa Garey of Coldwell Banker Bellmarc.

The 2,500-square-foot loft is filled with vintage furntiture, fur accents, exposed brick and more than one ornamental piano, the New York Daily News reports. A diagram of a human heart, painted blood red, hangs in the bathroom. The apartment also has keyed elevator access. [NYDN]  — Claire Moses
