WEEKENDEDITION Forget The Food Court. The MTA is considering a proposal next week for a 16,000-square-foot restaurant in Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal.

The eatery would include a 100-seat restaurant and take-out venue run by Claus Meyer, co-creator of Noma in Copenhagen, which was ranked “Best Restaurant in the World” in surveys by Restaurant magazine four of the past five years, the MTA told the New York Post.

“We are delighted to consider welcoming a world-class restaurant that would enliven spaces that are either closed to the public or used only for special events,” MTA Chairman Thomas F. Prendergast said.

If approved the restaurant would open in 2016. [NYP] Christopher Cameron
