JZS Madison, the real estate arm of healthcare entrepreneur Daniel Straus, turned a row of brownstones into oversized, detail-rich condos. The project at 33 East 74th Street is composed of 10 three- to five-bedroom residences. The development hit the market in January 2014 with three of its units. A $17.5 million three-bedroom unit was in contract at press time. That leaves a $32 million triplex penthouse and a $14.75 million fourth-floor three-bedroom on the market. Straus bought the property in 2010 from the Whitney Museum, which spent the funds on its new downtown building. JZS Madison tapped architecture firm Beyer Blinder Belle, known for its efforts preserve original building structures. Amenities include an attended lobby, a fitness center and private storage.
