The Charles at 1355 First Avenue

The Charles got off to a slow start, as lack of funding stalled construction for a few years. Things began to pick up after developer Bluerock Real Estate secured an $86 million loan from Starwood Property Trust. Sales at the 31-story, 30-unit condo tower at 1355 First Avenue have been steady since they launched in October 2013. On the market, as of press time, were five four-bedroom units with asking prices ranging from $6.5 million to nearly $9.9 million. Brooklyn Nets coach Jason Kidd and sports broadcaster David Cone have been spotted checking out condos in the building, according to press reports. The David Collins-designed interiors feature white oak flooring, floor-to-ceiling windows, and Sub-Zero and Miele appliances. The project is slated for completion this year.
