The condo project at 560 West 24th Street is a case study in the synergy between fine arts and luxury homes. Adam Gordon and Tavros Development‘s 11-story building houses not only six full-floor apartments and two duplex penthouses, but also a 4,900-square-foot gallery. Sales began in January 2014, and just two units were left as of press time; they range in price from $7.75 million for a 3,217-square-foot home to $18 million for a 4,596-square-foot penthouse, according to StreetEasy. The building has targeted art collectors with plywood-reinforced interior walls that can support heavy picture frames, gallery-style lighting, and multi-zone climate and humidity controls. Units also feature solid oak floors, bronze window casements and balustrades, and wood-burning fireplaces. Steven Harris designed the building. Occupancy is slated for the second half of this year.
