Nello Balan eyes Midtown spot for new eatery

Restauranteur known for $300 pasta dishes in talks to take over B & Co. space

High-end restauranteur Nello Balan, known for his eponymous, Pricey Eatery On Madison Avenue, may be bringing his posh pasta farther uptown.

Balan is in talks to take over the lease at 14 East 58th Street, a space located between Fifth and Madison avenues that until recently was home to B & Co. Italian restaurant, the New York Daily News reported. That lease is currently in the hands of former nightclub owner and onetime Upstairs at Cipriani club host Max Burgio. Burgio’s restaurant opened in the space just under a year ago.
