Permits filed to convert UES garage into residential building

Six-story parking garage would become 19-story rental property

Permits have been filed to turn a six-story parking garage at 152 East 87th Street into a 19-story residential building with 95 apartment units.

The proposed development would include 120,584 square feet of residential space on the fourth through 19th floors, A Rooftop Terrace, as well as parking in the basement and on the first through third floors.

At present, the plan is to build family-oriented, high-end rental units with one to four bedrooms, according to Areg Asatryan of Ismael Leyva Architects, the applicant of record. He said the project is in a very early phase of development and the number of units and other details could change.

The owner is registered under Allan Garage, LLC. Timothy Gordon, who is listed as a contact for the owner, declined to comment.
