Bank of Tokyo closing in on space in McGraw Hill Building

Financial institution would move into spot formerly occupied by Société Générale

Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ is in negotiations to lease roughly 303,000 square feet at the base of the McGraw Hill building at 1221 Avenue of the Americas.

Société Générale used to occupy space on the sixth through 10th floors, which is now vacant. Bank of Tokyo is currently located at 1251 Avenue of the Americas.

If the deal is signed, more than 1 million square feet will have been leased over the past year at the 2.5 million-square-foot tower, according to the New York Post. Fred Smith of Cushman & Wakefield is representing the tenant. A C&W group is representing the building. [NYP, 2nd item] — Claire Moses
