Trump Entertainment Resorts, which runs two casino/hotels in Atlantic City, is the latest gaming company in the New Jersey town to file for bankruptcy protection.

Trump Entertainment Resorts, which operates Atlantic City’s Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort and the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, filed its bankruptcy petition in Delaware. According to Reuters, the company listed assets and liabilities of between $100 million and $500 million.

The Taj, which has been in business for 24 years, is Atlantic City’s second largest casino.

Earlier this summer, the owners of Revel — another huge casino in town — filed for bankruptcy.

Earlier this year, Donald Trump — who founded Trump Entertainment — sued to have his name removed from both the Taj and the Trump Plaza. [Reuters] — Claire Moses
