Developer, starchitect discuss their humble beginnings and their latest luxury project

“Look at what we’re going to have, Larry!”

So says famed architect Robert A.M. Stern to developer Larry Silverstein in a new and often rib-tickling video promoting their latest Lower Manhattan project at 30 Park Place.

The narrator describes Silverstein and Stern, now sitting in a vintage black Mercedes with maroon interiors, as “two boys from Brooklyn, New York, with the humblest beginnings.”

Silverstein and Stern riff about their childhoods and discuss the changing Downtown skyline and 30 Park Place. The Tribeca project is now over 50 percent sold, as TRD reported.

In a later shot, the two are on a rooftop peering across the Downtown skyline. “Aren’t we blessed?” Silverstein says. “What a city.” — Hiten Samtani
