Coney Island co-op board brings libel suit against blogger

The president of Trump Village Section 4 claims that the website is scaring off buyers

A Coney Island co-op is suing a resident after she complained about the building on the web.

Igor Oberman, the co-op board president of Trump Village Section 4, filed a libel suit against Julia Bezvoleva, arguing that she was ruining his and the building’s reputations.

“Several potential employers have asked me about . . . the website,” Oberman said in an affidavit.

Bezvoleva runs TV4 United at tv4news.org, which covers board meetings and has been critical of Oberman.

“There is no freedom of speech, and there are no public meetings,” Bezvoleva told the Post. “When we do have them, we have lots of security guards. Sometimes police officers get invited to make sure nothing happens.” [NYP] – Christopher Cameron
