Gary Barnett’s notorious “poor door” is getting the TV treatment on an episode of the CBS police drama, “Blue Bloods.”

Extell made headlines last year for adding a separate entrance for poorer, subsidized tenants at 40 Riverside Boulevard. And now television is taking on the controversy, according to the New York Post.

CBS announced the “Poor Door” episode last week, in which detectives played by Donnie Wahlberg and Marisa Ramirez investigate a murder.

“Danny and Baez investigate a murder of a lower-income resident in a luxury building where 20 percent of the units are made affordable for lower-income housing,” CBS announced.

The episode is set to air on February 6. [NYP]Christopher Cameron

Stop the nonsense of calling it a poor door. It is simply a separate entrance for Rentals from the Condominium apartments. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this and this is a completely made up controversy. If anyone is actually offended they can be morons and refuse to live there out of “principle”.

    • Realest Minority

you are dum whats the difference there both considered apartments so you’re point is moot #poorDoorIn2015 what a joke

      • DTNYC

You can’t even spell! They are completely different types of living. Clearly, you rent or you’d know the difference.

        • Realest Minority

you are a imbecile so because a person rents they need to exit threw the side door ? god forbid you interact with privileged people of the Condominium we all know we cant have that you’re a joke kill Urself

          • DTNYC

Clearly you rent and will never know what it’s like own. And you are obviously bitter as well as you wish people who have better lives than you to kill themselves. So sad for you.

          • Realest Minority

i am not surprised a stupid person like yourself CANT address my valid question which makes YOU a “coward” and a racist who is in favor of segregation we both know what race you are…

the building code allows you to put things close to doors, you can put a window close to the poor door, a standpipe, a wall, lots of things.

      • Realest Minority

what the hell does that have to do with the poor door you fool??

        • comment flagged

you need two means of egress, one for the poor, one for middle income, the rich can use their golden parachutes.

          • Realest Minority

            um ok -_-

Instead of playing “victim,” tenants paying below market value should grateful they can live in a luxury building. Both entries use the same mailing address.

    • Realest Minority

      you are a (imbecile)

  • FlipoutNYC

if the below market tenants pay for the doorman service and gym and other amenity then they can use the same door.

    • Realest Minority

thank you amazing at these stupid people who think its ok to exit from the basement

  • FlipoutNYC

if you are ungrateful, you can give up your apartment for someone else. There are thousand people are on the waiting list.

    • Realest Minority

shut up so i am assuming you have to pick up the mail in the basement since you rent also kill yourself

In 2015, it’s hard to believe that we as a society can allow something called a poor door, we really need to replace this poor door with a middle-income door and make it a revolving door as well, to represent the cycle of life.

    • DTNYC

Once again, this is NOT a “poor” door! What is wrong with everybody? They are simply separate entrances for Owners and Renters. Nothing more. The renters are NOT POOR by anyone’s definition.

On our new 88-unit building at 13th and Lexington, we’re planning on having “Yankees” and “Mets” entrances to avoid the controversy.

When the Extell incident happened last I read a few articles. My favorite comment was from someone who said he would climb up a ladder to get to his apartment if he had the opportunity to live in a brand new building that was rent stabilized.
