Aby Rosen’s RFR Realty paid $55 million for the former Germania Bank building on the corner of Spring Street and the Bowery. Rosen entered contract to buy the building in September.

Seller Jay Maisel bought the six-story, 37,000-square-foot building at 190 Bowery roughly 50 years ago for $102,000, according to the New York Daily News. Maisel lived at the property with his wife and daughter  and operated a photo studio there and had long waited to sell.

In an effort to flip the property, Rosen re-listed it with Massey Knakal last year. [NYDN]Claire Moses
