“Million Dollar Listing New York” star Fredrik Eklund took a brief break from selling other people’s homes to cash in on his own. Via Instagram, Eklund announced that his Chelsea loft has sold “in a bidding war over ask.” Naturally, he went to a private island in the Florida Keys to celebrate.

Eklund first listed his three-bedroom apartment at 144 West 27th Street in May 2013. Back then the asking price was $3.25 million.

But recently, Eklund and his partner Derek Kaplan decided to give it another go at $2.9 million. And it seems to have worked.

Yesterday the Eklund announce on his Instagram account:

“That’s me flexing in the water with the signed contract of our apartment (and a glass of rose). I’m so happy: with less than a week on the market, our loft sold in a bidding war over ask! We arrived to the island last night late, and on our bed was the signed contract faxed – what an amazing anniversary gift! And I’m so happy for the buyer – so many incredible memories in that apartment. #weeee” – Christopher Cameron
