The last thing a hip, Brooklyn vinyl collector would want to do is break a record. Not so with the borough’s new crop of high-end buyers.

A penthouse at 1 John Street in Dumbo went into contract for $8.8 million dollars, enough to shatter the borough record.

The 12-story, 42-unit condo building on Brooklyn Bridge Park, which launched sales about a year ago, is now about 80 percent sold, Crain’s reported.

The four-bedroom, 3,657-square-foot penthouse, unit PHE, features 27 windows.

Alloy Development and Monadnock Development partnered on the project, which was created to generate revenue for the upkeep of Brooklyn Bridge Park, which opened in August. [Crain’s]Ariel Stulberg
