Jeffrey Sachs may be one of the world’s leading experts on poverty, but at least these days, he’s not learning from personal experience.

The international development economist bought himself and his pediatrician wife Sonia a $6.25 million condo at Harsen House at 120 West 72nd Street on the Upper West Side.

The four-bedroom, 3,200-square-foot unit features direct elevator access and a Zuma deep soaking tub in the master bathroom.

The 16-story, 22-unit Harsen House, built by Anbau Enterprises, was one of the city’s first LEED-certified “green” buildings, perfect for Sachs, who is head of Columbia University’s Earth Institute.

The Chelsea-based Anbau bought another Upper West Side development site in April, at 209 West 79th Street, where it’s planning a 13-story Morris Adjmi-designed condo building. [NYP]Ariel Stulberg
