Where can you find semolina-fennel-raisin loaf, customized six-grain rice sushi and an Urban Monkey doughnut? Your local food hall, of course.

If, however, your nearest food hall is a 40-minute subway ride away, do not despair. Over the past five years, eight new food halls have opened up in the city, and developers are showing no signs of slowing down. By 2018, you’ll be able to pick up a batch of organic ale, an asian-fusion dumpling slider or a dozen fresh oysters in practically every borough.  To see a breakdown of facts about the city’s current and upcoming food halls, check out the video above or find it on The Real Deal‘s YouTube page.
