Yale University signed a 2,550-square-foot lease at Elk Investors’ 220 East 23rd Street. The Ivy League institution’s School of Public Health will use the office space for its Esteem Program, which focuses on mental health for LGBTQ.

TheSquareFoot’s Justin Lee and Ryan Burwell represented Yale, while ABS Partners Real Estate’s [TRDataCustom] Joe LaRosa and Ron Zimmerman represented the landlord.  The lease has a five-year term and asking rents in the neighborhood range from the high $40s to low $50s.

Other tenants in the 12-story, 173,435-square-foot building include Goodwill and engineering firm Transsolar.

Yale, which employs famed housing economist Robert Shiller and counts several real estate bigwigs among its alumni, previously ran the Esteem Program out of New Haven.
