Nausea, diarrhea and vomiting, oh my! The blue-green algae found in Big Reed Pond is a cyanobacteria that can cause stomach issues, eye or throat irritation, allergic reactions and breathing difficulties, the Suffolk County Health Department announced Friday. Officials asked residents to refrain from swimming in the waters and to keep children and pets away from the area, according to the East Hampton Star.  Georgica Pond just reopened two weeks ago after a bloom of the same algae.[EHS] — Cathaleen Chen
