Blumenfeld Development Group secured $77 million in financing from the State Housing Financing Agency and AIG for its 232,000-square-foot mixed-use East Harlem project at 146 East 125th Street.
The 233-unit building will have 34,444 square feet devoted to commercial use on the first two floors. It’s unclear how many of the rental apartment units will be affordable.
Bjarke Ingels [TRDataCustom], the Danish architect behind the pyramid-shaped Via on West 57th Street, was hired to design the 11-story project. Renderings for the project show a curving facade along 126th Street between Third and Lexington Avenues, with the leg of the T-shaped structure cantilevering over Blumenfeld’s Gotham Plaza, at 163 East 125th Street.
