Steven Holl Architects created this small house that’s big on style upstate in Rhinebeck, according to Curbed.

The three-level, 918-square-foot house is called “the Ex of In House,” and was completed this summer. It was part of the firm’s research and development program and its unusual shape was meant to be a rejoinder to the McMansion, according to the firm.

It boasts a geothermal system, solar energy and wood-paneled interiors. However, it notably lacks one common conveince: bedrooms.
