A pair of sister media firms based in Midtown South are relocating to the Empire Stores in DUMBO, where they’ve signed a lease for 50,000 square feet.

Laundry Service and Cycle, which currently occupy 22,500 square feet at 40 West 25th Street, inked the deal at Midtown Equities, Rockwood Capital and the HK Organization’s conversion of the former coffee warehouse at 55 Water Street, the Wall Street Journal reported.

“We like the up-and-coming hustler mentality, and I think Dumbo has that in a lot of ways,” said Jason Stein, chief executive of Laundry Service and Cycle, which are both owned by Wasserman Media Group.

Wenner Media, the publisher of Rolling Stone magazine, was reportedly in talks earlier this year to lease as much as 70,000 square feet at the property.
