Here’s to more summers on the Westhampton Beach. The Sandpiper, a popular vacation co-op that burned down in April 2015, will soon be rebuilt as a new 50-unit building. The Westhampton Beach Village Planning Board approved the project a few weeks ago, 27East reported. The new Sandpiper will closely resemble its predecessor, according to building and zoning administrator Paul Houlihan. It will span 14,300 square feet and include 46 one-bedroom units and four two-bedroom units. The developer — the Sandpiper at Westhampton Beach Incorporated — will have 18 months to finish construction, unless an extension is approved. [27East] — Cathaleen Chen
