The Stagg Group filed plans Monday for a 163-unit apartment building at 150 Van Cortlandt Avenue East in the Bronx.

The 13-story building will span just over 134,000 square feet, including more than 5,000 square feet of community space in the basement. Marin Architects is the architect of record.

The Westchester-based development firm had bought the lot in the Bronx’ Bedford Park section for $7.1 million in March 2015, with $7.5 million in financing from an unnamed private lender. An executive at the firm did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.

Stagg [TRDataCustom] is one of the Bronx’ most active developers, coming in fifth in TRD’s September 2015 ranking. Last year, it filed plans for a 116-apartment building in the Norwood neighborhood.

The Bronx has seen an uptick in residential construction activity in recent years, with developers betting the borough will attract a growing number of New Yorkers priced out of Manhattan or Brooklyn.
