Craig Newmark, the founder of online listing service Craigslist, has filed plans to convert his part of a former 6-unit building into a two-family unit in Greenwich Village, according to public records.

Newmark bought two units that make up a duplex apartment on the first two floors of the historic building located at 52 West 9th Street for $5.9 million in May. Alessandra Livia Dacco owns the third and fourth floor apartments for which she paid a total of $4.4 million.

But now, Newmark wants to transform his portion of the 6,075-square-foot building into a a two-family home, according to department of buildings application.
