Elad Properties and hotel union workers have reached agreement to preserve the Plaza Hotel’s Grand Ballroom, Palm Court, and Oak Bar as open to the public, as well as maintain 348 of the hotel’s 805 guest rooms, up from the 150 originally planned to be saved. The remaining rooms will be converted into about 150 apartments. The plan should enable about 350 workers more than double the original estimate to keep their jobs at the hotel. more [NYT]
