Jets stadium remains in limbo

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority set an Aug. 31 deadline today to decide whether the New York Jets get to build a stadium over the far West Side rail yards. The MTA awarded development rights for the rail yards to the Jets on March 31, but the NFL franchise recently missed a deadline to declare whether it wanted to go ahead with the stadium. In June, $300 million in state funding for the stadium was shot down by State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver. more [Daily News]
