Mayor: City soon out of real estate business

Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced Thursday that New York soon “will be out of the real estate business” as he unveiled a bidding competition for the new homes to be built on 248 of the last city-owned vacant lots. As many as 3,200 units of mixed-income housing could be built on the lots. more [NYDN]
