Manhattan’s weekly wage averaged $1,350 by the end of the second quarter of 2005, according to data released recently by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That’s a 7.4 percent increase over a 24-month period ending with the end of the second quarter and a pace of growth greater than the national inflation rate of 5.9 percent. Brooklyn and Staten Island also saw inflation-adjusted increases in average weekly wages, while the Bronx and Queens experienced declines when wages were adjusted for inflation. more [CNN/Money]
