Threats thrown at Yankee Stadium meeting

A City Council subcommittee met Tuesday to consider the new Yankee Stadium in the South Bronx — and things got ugly quickly. The Yankees’ president threatened to no longer “build in New York City anymore” if the city didn’t approve the stadium. And a City Council member representing the area where the stadium would be pronounced herself “insulted” by the baseball franchise’s stadium proposal. more [Metro]
