Company sources say that EMI Group will move the offices of its music publishing wing from two Midtown locations into new digs Downtown. The music giant will move its publishing operations from headquarters at 1290 Avenue of the Americas and a second building on 7th Avenue next fall.
Sources would not say exactly where the move will take EMI Music Publishing– currently the world’s largest music publisher– but indicated that The Meatpacking District is of particular interest. EMI Music, the recorded music arm of EMI Group, will remain in its offices at 155 5th Avenue. -Tim Moran
