LPC OKs newfangled playground

The Landmarks Preservation Commission unanimously approved plans for a high-concept playground planned for Burning Slip near the South Street Seaport. Architect David Rockwell designed the $2 million playground, which will have water, ramps, sand and “play workers,” or adults whose job is to help kids navigate the space’s features. The project needs to be approved by the State Historic Preservation Office to move forward. more [NYT]
