Harlem’s residential market booms

Harlem’s residential upswing continues in earnest, with more than 1,500 condo units proposed for construction this year north of 96th Street, according to reports. The average price per square foot for condos rose nearly 40 percent from 2005 to 2006, the biggest increase among all neighborhoods in Manhattan. Condo prices are currently pushing $700 per square foot, exceeding the $600-per-square-foot figure developers were projecting last year. more [Sun]
