Chrysler president buys UES townhouse

James E. Press, president and vice chairman of Chrysler, and his wife Suwichada Press have purchased a two-family Upper East Side townhouse for $13.5 million, according to public records. Before joining Chrysler in September, Press was president of Toyota Motor North America. He was the only non-Japanese ever to be elected to Toyota’s board of directors. The century-old brick townhouse at 178 East 64th Street is 5,380 square feet. TRD
